I shamelessly stole (excuse me, repurposed) this link from my friend Michael’s blog. If you’ll follow the link, it’s a flash history of the past 5000 years of disputed territory in the Middle East. No less than 17 Empires have ruled in the Middle East in recorded human history – certainly puts things in perspective . . .

    did everyone notice at the tail-end of the flash the expansion of israel after the 48 and 67 wars?

    international law forbids the acquisition of territory through war, and all UN member nations agreeto be bound by these laws.

    the conquests and expansions of empires that we saw vividly portrayed in the flash video all occurred before the establishment of the UN.
