Readers on this blogsite know that I have mentioned on many occasions the high number of UN resolutions Israel has defied historically or continues to defy presently. The same readers should be well-aware that I have criticized the unconditional support the US admin has given, which certainly contributes to the overall problem.
No one on this site has challenged me produce the specifics of these UN violations, which I have saved and could do so easily.
Past behavior aside, the most recent one can be read at the above link. It’s funny how the most militarized state in the Middle East, the only country with nuclear weapons, the country that the entire world, mod the United States, views as a terrorist state, still paints itself as the victim.
The victimizer is the victim, allegation is certainty, proof is produced and yet goes unread, and through it all, the injustice continues.
I guess the whole world has an institutional bias against Israel, Mark Regev, is that what you are suggesting?
Incidentally, Mark Regev is the Israeli spokesperson for the History Channel’s documentary on the USS Liberty incident, and he says something to the effect of “why would Israel attack the US. Israel and the US are allies. Israel would never do such a thing” (paraphrase)
Last summer, while I witnessed in horror what Israel was doing to the Gaza and then Lebanon, I remember the same Mark Regev interviewed after Israel attacked the UN compound in Lebanon, an attack that Kofi Annan charged was deliberate (and with good reason to describe it as such).
I remember vividly Mark Regev saying the same thing basically as he said about the Liberty : “Israel would never do such a thing. It makes no logical sense, so therefore why would Israel do such a thing?”
Yet all the data, the UN warnings to Israel last summer that attacks were getting close to the UN compound, the 6 hours of almost-continuous radio contact with IDF forces indicating that bombs were exploding close to the UN compound, and then a guided missile flew right into the UN compound. Israel later said it was an accident.
I am very well-read on the USS Liberty incident, and all the data then, and facts that have recently been made public, all demonstrate that it was also a deliberate attack. High ranking US officials (Thomas Moorer, Dean Rusk, Ward Boston and his affadavit) all rejected the accidental attack explanation offered by Israel.
I wonder how the most technological-advanced military in the Middle East, with state-of-art weaponry given to Israel at the expense of JOE Q AMERICAN PUBLIC, with laser-guided bombs and pinpoint-accuracy rocket systems can have so many “accidents” .
Yet Mark Regev is proclaiming that the most recent UN SC vote with respect to Israel’s reprehensible behavior is that the resolution was very “one-sided”.
Mark Regev, go to hell.
